Who we are

Content Engine is a LinkedIn content marketing platform operated by Energy Credit Consulting ("ECC", "we", "us"). It helps businesses research, draft, review, schedule, and publish LinkedIn content, and measure how that content performs. This policy explains what data we collect when you use Content Engine, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to charles@energycreditconsulting.com.

Data we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, and workspace details when you sign up (including basic profile information from Google if you sign in with Google).

Content you provide. Sources you add for content research (pasted text, uploaded documents, files from a Google Drive folder you choose to connect), post drafts, edits, styles, and scheduling preferences.

LinkedIn connection data. When you connect a LinkedIn profile or company page, we receive your LinkedIn member identifier, display name, and OAuth access tokens authorized by you. Tokens are encrypted at rest and used only to act on your behalf: publishing posts you approved and reading performance data for your own posts and pages.

Post performance data. Metrics for your published posts (impressions, unique viewers, reactions, comments, shares, clicks) retrieved from LinkedIn with your authorization, and public engagement information about people who interact with your posts (name, headline, public profile link, and their comment or reaction), which we show you as your engaged audience.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your plan, billing status, and invoice references. We never store full card numbers.

Usage and log data. Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, errors) used for security, debugging, and improving the product.

How we use your data

We use the data above to:

  • Operate the service: generate drafts from your sources, run your review queue, schedule and publish content you approve, and show you analytics.
  • Publish to LinkedIn strictly on your behalf and with your authorization. Nothing is posted without your account's approval settings allowing it.
  • Process payments, provide support, and send service notifications (for example, a post failed to publish or a connection is about to expire).
  • Secure the platform, prevent abuse, and debug problems.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content or your audience's data to train AI models.

AI processing

Content Engine uses third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google) to draft and refine posts and generate images. The material sent to these providers is the content you supply for that purpose: your sources, drafts, style guidance, and related context. On BYOK plans, requests use API keys you provide, under your own agreements with those providers.

Service providers we rely on

We share data with service providers only as needed to run Content Engine:

  • Vercel (application hosting)
  • Supabase (database and file storage)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • LinkedIn (publishing and analytics APIs, with your authorization)
  • AI providers (content generation, as described above)
  • Apify (retrieval of publicly available LinkedIn engagement data for your own posts)
  • Google (sign-in and the optional Google Drive source integration)
  • Email delivery providers (service notifications)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Content Engine and its users.

Your LinkedIn connection

Your LinkedIn access is yours. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored tokens, or revoke Content Engine's access from your LinkedIn account settings. We use LinkedIn data only as permitted by the LinkedIn API Terms of Use, only for the workspace that authorized it, and each customer's connections and data are isolated from every other customer.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active so the product can work (for example, historical post performance powers your analytics). If you disconnect an integration, its tokens are deleted. If you want your account and its data deleted, email charles@energycreditconsulting.com and we will remove it within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal or billing reasons.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is restricted to people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your credentials and content with the same care we would want for our own.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email us and we will honor these requests for all users regardless of location.

Children

Content Engine is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify account owners by email. Your continued use of Content Engine after a change means you accept the updated policy.
